PHOENIX, Ariz. — Aug. 16, 2006 — nFocus Software™, a woman-owned business and leading provider of training management and tracking software, announced today it has signed a contract with General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, to get assistance in winning and delivering on more government contracts. The agreement with General Dynamics is a contract that qualifies under the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé program. Under the program, large mentoring companies assist small-business protégés in successfully competing and executing prime and subcontracts with the government by providing developmental assistance in software development, contract management, business and proposal development, as well as financial and security management.
nFocus Software’s web-based training system is embedded in public sector tracking programs in virtually every major U.S. city. Its KidTrax® Membership Management System is the largest record keeping system for children, ages birth to 18 who are participating in youth and after school programs.
In addition, the company’s isn/TRAX®, an Internet-based software system, tracks the training plans and schedules of over a million U.S. Army troops. In order to change how the U.S. prepares its military forces for combat and non combat operations, the military is transforming the way it conducts training. nFocus Software’s isn/TRAX software product provides enterprise-level training management and tracking for the worldwide fielding and sustaining of the U.S. Army’s training management system. isn/TRAX is complementary to General Dynamics’ tactical-level training, simulation and logistics software products.
“We see key areas for collaboration with nFocus for what General Dynamics is doing with the DoD in making sure warfighters are ready for their missions and equipped to learn, improvise and adapt to constantly changing threats,” said Ralph Whitney, Training, Simulation and Support Systems director for General Dynamics C4 Systems. “The battlefield is fast becoming a digital environment, so meeting warfighters’ needs requires a combination of enterprise-level tracking and management software and tactical-level, embedded training and logistics software to ensure mission readiness.”
nFocus Software has a three-year agreement with General Dynamics during which the companies plan to enhance software training and logistics products appropriate for new DoD contract opportunities in addition to General Dynamics providing mentorship in key defense contracting management areas.
Ananda Roberts, president of nFocus, said, “nFocus has the only authorized and automated system for managing training within an Army unit with ‘out of the box’ and customized features. Yet as a small business, there is much we can learn and adapt by partnering with General Dynamics. So I believe the sum of what we can do together as Mentor and Protégé is greater than our individual efforts toward meeting warfighters’ training objectives.”
