TACLANE® Encryptors

Software Upgrade Now Available!

The TACLANE® Team is proud to announce the availability of our most recent software upgrade for the TACLANE Classic (KG-175) and TACLANE-E100 (KG-175). The NSA (National Security Agency) requires these upgrades to be completed by Dec. 31, 2007. These upgrades satisfy HAIPE® IS v1.3.5 (BATON only) compliance requirements. To ensure reporting of upgraded units(s), NSA requests that you coordinate with your local service representative (if necessary) prior to performing the upgrade. Click here for NSA mandate.

The upgrades can be performed in the field by U.S. Forces and U.S. Contractors supporting U.S. Forces who are TACLANE users. The upgrade can be obtained via a software CD from General Dynamics.

TACLANE software upgrade is FREE to all authorized users and includes:

• HAIPE IS v1.3.5 (BATON only)
• Enhanced FIREFLY (IP only)
• Internet Key Exchange (IKE)
• IP Traffic Flow Security (TFS)
• Secure Dynamic Discovery (SDD)
• Less Stringent Key Expiration Requirements

Once upgraded, the TACLANE 3.0v4/3.0Ev4 is backwards compatible with TACLANE 2.X releases to support network transitions.

What version is your unit currently at?

If your units are currently at 1.25, please call (781) 455-5559.

If your units are currently at 2.X, please follow the directions below.

If your units are currently at 3.0v1, please follow the directions below .

You will need:

• TACLANE unit(s) containing Release 2.0/2.0E or higher
• The Master (SSO) CIK for each unit being upgraded
• A straight through serial cable (DTE – DCE)
• A computer with hyper terminal capability
• The TACLANE serial numbers you will be upgrading

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE 3.0/3.0E INSTALLED IN YOUR UNIT BEFORE YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR UNIT WITH THE 3.0v4/3.0Ev4 SOFTWARE. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RE-KEY and RE-CONFIGURE YOUR UNITS AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE 3.0/3.0E UPGRADE.

Per NSA mandate, you need to email the serial number of each unit upgraded to tlupgrade@gdc4s.com.

Army customers are requested to cc: ray.husson@csla.army.mil in their feedback email to General Dynamics reporting serial numbers and DoDAAC/COMSEC Acct.
