Land Warrior

Land Warrior Lifting the ‘Fog of War’ in Iraq
At a recent Infantry Association meeting, attendees learned that the Land Warrior system currently employed in Iraq with the 2nd Infantry Division’s 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment (Manchus), is unquestionably enhancing combat effectiveness. Used at the team leader level, Land Warrior is the first networked soldier in what is expected to be a continuous evolution with any future Army and Joint battlefield networks.
Land Warrior is an integrated ensemble worn by dismounted soldiers that greatly enhances their war fighting combat efficiency and reduces risk of fratricide. Land Warrior consists of a helmet mounted display, a small computer for situational awareness and navigation and a headset with radio connectivity.
