Homeland Security

The federal government's homeland security mission is to enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to prevent and deter terrorist attacks and protect against and respond to foreign and domestic threats and hazards to the nation; and to provide federal leadership in the unified national effort to secure America.
This increasingly complex mission requires a focused effort on developing an infrastructure in which interagency systems can provide immediate information where and when it's needed for the most effective response.
By drawing on a strong legacy of systems and software analysis and integration, General Dynamics C4 Systems is well-positioned to address the broad range of national homeland security initiatives. We provide integrated solutions — core to edge — for the large national network of agencies, organizations and institutions involved in efforts to secure the United States.
One of the larger nationwide programs General Dynamics C4 Systems is leading is the U.S. Coast Guard’s Rescue 21 command, control and communication system for which we are the prime contractor and systems integrator.
On an even larger scale, General Dynamics has been awarded one of two contracts to prepare a design and implementation plan for an initial service of the government's future Integrated Wireless Network (IWN). Ultimately IWN will provide secure, seamless, interoperable and reliable nationwide wireless voice, data and multimedia communications among 80,000 federal agents and law enforcement officers engaged in disaster response, law enforcement, protective services and homeland defense. Following the design competition, the government will select a single contractor for the full implementation of IWN.
In addition, the EAGLE Program establishes a suite of indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contracts for IT support services that enables DHS business and program units to accomplish their mission objectives. These contracts are designed to offer a broad range of services, solutions and contract types to fulfill the majority of component and departmental IT services needs.
Local, state, and federal agencies are using our solutions for deterrence, detection, prevention, rescue, and recovery efforts. These include communication networks and products, information security, biological and chemical detection systems, and a host of situational awareness tools aimed at maximizing operational effectiveness.
Whether for border, port and transportation security, emergency preparedness and response, information analysis and infrastructure protection, detection, surveillance and intelligence, or research and development, General Dynamics C4 Systems provides federal government agencies the flexibility to manage their homeland security operations to enable mission success.
