Joint Battlespace Infosphere (JBI)
Overview
The Joint Battlespace Infosphere (JBI) Mercury software
provides a flexible, secure information management
layer for network-centric systems such as defined
in Net Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) in support
of Global Information Grid Enterprise Services (GIG
ES). JBI Mercury Service Provider software provides
publish, subscribe, query, and other functions
through a Common Client Application Program Interface
(CAPI) as defined by the open community process at http://www.infospherics.org with
technical direction from Air Force Research Labs http://www.rl.af.mil/programs/jbi/.
JBI Mercury is developed with focus on the

This overview of
JBI provides an introduction to the Joint Battlespace
Infosphere approach and features provided by JBI Mercury.
Beyond JBI Mercury, General Dynamics C4 Systems,
and Air Force Research Labs, Sensis Corporation have
teamed on the JBI Client Adpater Contract to develop
and deliver a set of Joint Battlespace Infosphere
(JBI) clients and client adapters that together support
a compelling and operationally realistic military
scenario in a JBI context.
