Combat Operations Center (COC)
Overview
A Marine Corps Systems Command Program of Record

Combat Operations Centers (COCs) are mobile, modular
command and control centers designed to support Marines
wherever they are deployed. COCs will be the focal
point of decision-making during all phases of ground
warfare, allowing Marine forces to digitally collect,
process, and disseminate tactical data.
COC systems are supporting Marine forces in Operation
Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and supporting Marines pre-deployment
training and testing in the United
States. Additionally,
the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has
ordered 37 additional systems to be built in 2005.
General Dynamics is integrating computerized intelligence,
information and communication systems into a low risk
COC design that will:
- increase operational capability and mission effectiveness
- enhance situational awareness Marine, Joint and
Coalition systems
- preserve resources (including human life)
- facilitate training
Ground commanders at all echelons will benefit from
General Dynamics’ aggressive efforts to incorporate
operational flexibility for quick, safe deployment. |
