SelectFocus™
SelectFocus™ is an image/video compression and exploitation suite of software products designed for commercial and government users. SelectFocus currently comprises three products: SelectFocusIMAGE™ selectable region-of-interest image compression; SelectFocusVIDEO™ ultra-low-bit-rate video compression; and SelectFocusMOSAIC™ video mosaicking tool. Each of these products provides state-of-the-art performance and functionality, extreme ease of use, and is operable on any Windows/Unix/Linux-based platform.
Compression Software enables the transmission of critical imagery over ultra-low-bandwidth links, such as a single 2.4-kbps Iridium® channel, by allowing objects or regions of interest to be compressed at higher resolution, while the background is compressed at lower resolution. This coding methodology dramatically reduces the bandwidth required to transmit the imagery, while preserving its target-specific utility.
Compression Software enables the transmission of tactically useful video over ultra-low-bandwidth communication links, such as a single 2.4-kbps Iridium® channel. Our efficient, software-only implementation enables real-time video encoding/decoding on any Windows/Unix/Linux-based platform. SelectFocusVIDEO allows on-the-fly adjustment of coding parameters such as bit rate, frame rate, temporal correlation, and single/multiple channel operation, which enables it to adapt to any IP-based network configuration.
Video Mosaicking Software creates a single “panoramic” image from a video sequence. This functionality merges the area that has been imaged by a moving video camera into a single, large image that displays the entire area simultaneously, providing unprecedented wide-area imaging capability. The mosaicking process thus effectively reduces the amount of data required to represent the video sequence by several orders of magnitude, while preserving the vast majority of information contained within the video sequence.
