These individuals service to others embraces the sense of community in Scottsdale. As positive role models and mentors, they are helping to make our community a better place to live and work. They truly deserve our applause and appreciation.

 

 
Ryan Bushman

Ryan Bushman

Ryan has dedicated more than 2,000 hours to Leadership Workshops Foundation for Youth and Family — despite his college schedule. He also mentors fellow Peer Leaders and provides administrative support to the organization. Himself just out of his teens, Ryan relates well to young people and teaches them leadership, social and life skills



 
Ann Collins

Ann Collins

Ann provides leadership, hope and commitment to over 250 families in our community. She assists them with basic needs through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Mara Goretti Conference. This mother has run three different school PTO organizations, mentored other women, and influenced the lives of hundreds of young women through scouting.


 
Ray Jimenez

Ray Jimenez

Raymond has volunteered over 2,000 hours with the Handlebar Helpers apprentice program providing bicycles to people who need transportation to and from work. His volunteer hours include mentoring teens on both bike-building and life skills. He also serves Scottsdale citizens as an interpreter and mediator.

 
Isabel Moreno



Isabel Moreno

Isabel is a strong advocate of the Yaqui community and is involved in numerous organizations. Whether at school, or with her community groups, she has encouraged the youth of South Scottsdale to be come involved in healthy activities. One of the most tangible results of her efforts is a van for use throughout the community. The intangible results are her grace and wisdom that is respected from tots to teens to elders.



 
Lois Peach

Lois Peach

Lois volunteers in a local support group for Sjogrens Syndrome, although herself afflicted. She is also active in many other community organizations benefiting Scottsdale and supporting our youth and our elderly. In addition to her formal volunteering, she helps neighbors garden and young people learn to cook



 
Robert Rissi

Robert Rissi

Robert has volunteered many hours transporting community members to various appointments. Although many of his official volunteer hours are through St. Vincent de Paul, he has spent many unofficial volunteer hours driving people to church, teaching life management skills, and helping many people get back on their feet when they were in need. He is a true role model.



 
Hester Shieh

Hester Shieh

Hester is a member of the All-Stars Leadership program at Chaparral High School, which has hosted many community events. She also volunteers at Scottsdale Healthcare and with the Youth Corps program. You can find Hester working with youth, filing in an office, raising money or playing music.
